Installation instructions
This is a translation for your convenience. The Dutch version of this text prevails and is legally binding.
These installation instructions apply to every engine and gearbox supplied by Jonker-Huissen B.V. Follow them carefully. Correct, professional installation prevents damage and is a condition for the warranty. Installation must be carried out by a recognised and qualified automotive workshop.
Check on receipt
- Before installation, check that the delivered part matches your order (engine code, gearbox code or part number).
- Report visible transport damage or any discrepancy within 48 hours of receipt, with photos and the invoice number.
- Never install a part if you are unsure whether it is the correct version. In that case, contact us first.
Preparing an engine
- Change the engine oil and the oil filter, using oil to the manufacturer's specification.
- Replace the timing belt or chain with tensioners and, where applicable, the water pump, unless explicitly stated otherwise.
- Replace the fuel filter and the air filter.
- Clean and check the cooling system and fill it with new coolant of the correct type.
- Check all connections, sensors, gaskets and wiring, and replace them where necessary.
- Only reuse add-on parts such as the turbo, injectors and alternator after checking that they work properly.
Preparing a gearbox
- Change or top up the transmission oil to the manufacturer's specification.
- On a manual gearbox, replace the clutch and the release bearing and check the flywheel.
- Check the drive shafts, oil seals and the gearbox breather.
After installation and running-in
- Bleed the cooling system fully and check for leaks.
- Let the engine reach operating temperature gently and check again for leaks and fault codes.
- Observe a running-in period: drive gently for the first 1,000 kilometres and avoid high loads and high revs.
- Check the oil and coolant levels after the first drive and top up if necessary.
Warranty
- The warranty applies only in the case of professional installation and full compliance with these instructions.
- Keep the invoice and the installation record with date and mileage. We may request these in the event of a warranty claim.
- The warranty lapses in the event of overheating, use of incorrect oil or fluids, or modifications to the part.
- The warranty covers the delivered part. Labour costs, installation costs and consequential damage are excluded from the warranty, in accordance with article 13 of our terms and conditions.
